This report includes revised forecasts of population for July 1, 1948 to 1955, which supplement the figures published in: Bureau of the Census, Forecasts of the Population of the United States, 1945-1975, Government Printing Office, 1947.  Enrollment in our elementary and high schools is expected to increase steadily until about 1958, when more than 34 million children will be enrolled, according to forecasts reported today by J. C. Capt, Director, Bureau of the Census, Department of Commerce.
