1930 Census of Agriculture: Types of Farming in the United States

Seven chapters present text analysis, 30 tables, and 48 figures (maps) for the following:

  1. Introduction
  2. The type of farm classification in the Census of Agriculture of 1930
  3. Geography of American agriculture and characteristics of each type of farming
  4. Regional differentiation of the agriculture of the United States
  5. Relation of physical and economic factors to the geographic distribution of types of farming in the United States
  6. Variation in organization on farms of a given type
  7. Appraisal of results and some of the ways they may be used

The Appendix contains Tables I-XXII, which include variations in organization of various types of farms; frequency tables showing selected types of farms classified by size of farm and the more important crop and livestock combinations found on each. Jacket at end of volume contains county outline map of the United States, and type of farming areas.
