The three parts of this volume incorporate the first and second series of advance agriculture bulletins with statistics by counties.
Pt. 1. The Northern States.
Pt. 2. The Southern States.
Pt. 3. The Western States.
The data for each State and its counties include statistics of farms and farm property—number of farms, acreage, and use of land; farm operators by color and farms by tenure; farms by size, value of land and buildings, and implements and machinery, by tenure; cooperative marketing; farm expenditures (feed, fertilizer, labor, implements and machinery, and electric light and power); farm machinery, facilities and roads; land owned and rented by part owners; percent of tenancy; and movement of farm population-as well as statistics of farm mortgage debt and farm taxes; domestic animals, poultry, and bees; specified livestock products; and crops—field crops, vegetables harvested for sale, fruits and nuts, forest products cut on farms; sales of products of nurseries, greenhouses, hothouses, etc., and value of crops.
Each part includes a summary for the United States.
Census statistics date back to 1790 and reflect the growth and change of the United States. Past census reports contain some terms that today’s readers may consider obsolete and inappropriate. As part of our goal to be open and transparent with the public, we are improving access to all Census Bureau original publications and statistics, which serve as a guide to the nation's history.
