Mortality Statistics: 1925 — Twenty-Sixth Annual Report, Part I

Part I: Summary and Rate Tables and General Tables for the Death Registration Area in Continental United States, with Supplemental Statistics for Hawaii and the Virgin Islands

The twenty-sixth annual report of mortality statistics for 1925 is presented in two parts:

Part I includes summary and rate tables and general tables for the registration area in continental United States, and special tables for Hawaii, the Virgin Islands, the registration States of 1920, and contributory causes of death in relation to primary causes in the registration area.

Part II is an analysis of these statistics, although those for Hawaii and the Virgin Islands are discussed separately because of their great distance from continental United States and the peculiar constitution of their populations.

A Note on Language

Census statistics date back to 1790 and reflect the growth and change of the United States. Past census reports contain some terms that today’s readers may consider obsolete and inappropriate. As part of our goal to be open and transparent with the public, we are improving access to all Census Bureau original publications and statistics, which serve as a guide to the nation's history.
