The Geographic Areas Reference Maps (formerly referred to as State/County Subdivision Outline Maps) are a state-based map series produced to accompany the data contained in the Census of Population and Housing publications. These reference maps display the names and boundaries for the following geographic entities: counties, county subdivisions, places, consolidated cities, American Indian areas, Alaska Native areas, and Hawaiian home lands. Depending on the size and complexity of each state's geography, the state may be divided into multiple sections, one section per page, at the same map scale. When necessary, inset sheets at larger map scales are included. These PDF maps are 8 1/2 x 11 inches page-size format.
