2020

In August, we released the following updates to the site:

  • Incorporating filter chips more prominently into advanced search and in the single search bar. This update allows you to keep your previous filter selections when you edit your search in the single search bar.
  • Table Display update for look and feel as well as column width updates
  • Removal of table display to allow for more table results to be available in All Results Page
  • More links and connections with MDAT
  • Continued download improvements
  • 46 defect resolutions. Highlights include:
    • The default pathway for zip code tabulation area (ZCTA) was corrected to take you down that pathway that provides the most data.
    • Improvements to help prevent the site from freezing when trying to display large tables.
    • The maps automatically zoom to your selected area in situations where a manual scroll was required in the past.

In late-October, we released the following updates to the site:

  • Export table output now includes complete source information and table notes.
  • Enhanced customized table ribbon features a more simplified layout and new clickable buttons for Print and Export.
  • New check boxes allow you to select collections of detailed population groups in a single click (example: “All available tribes” or “All available ancestries). These are available for race, ethnicity, ancestry, and country of birth groups.
  • Improved messaging to clarify when your search returned no results.
  • Ability to a deep link to filtered table views by manually adding non-key dimension details in the URL. Instructions are available in the Custom Filters section of this FAQ.
  • 20 defect resolutions, including the ability to see data for more than one ZCTA at a time.

In mid-October, we released a special update to resolve a few defects. With this release:

  • ZIP Code Tabulation Area (ZCTA) filters are organized by state. Please note: We are still working to add check boxes in the future that would allow you to select all ZCTAs in a state through the default view and summary level 860.
  • Trailing zeros for ACS margins of error with decimal points are displayed.
  • An issue with congressional districts not appearing in the filter panel has been resolved.
