“Sector 00” is not an official NAICS sector but is rather a way to indicate when multiple NAICS sectors are being displayed within the same table and/or dataset. Note: Other programs outside of the economic census may use sector 00 to indicate a total for all sectors.
Data tables and FTP files from the 2022 Economic Census that cover multiple industries in the same table/dataset (“Sector 00”) can be accessed from the links below. Data that cover specific NAICS sectors alone must be accessed from each separate NAICS Sector webpage.
Geographic Area Statistics provide summary statistics by geographic area for establishments and firms with paid employees. Data are shown on the 2022 NAICS basis. NAICS level and geographic coverage provided vary by sector and can be selected by filtering within the table on data.census.gov.
The initial “First Look” release data are archived on the census FTP site.
Comparative and Bridge Statistics provide data comparisons between 2017 and 2022 and demonstrate how data is bridged between 2017 and 2022.
The economic census produces detailed statistics on the size of establishments and firms for every sector except Management of Companies and Enterprises (Sector 55). All data are available at the national level and include only establishments and firms with payroll.
Detailed data about products and services using the North American Product Classification System (NAPCS) are available at the national level, and for selected sectors, also at the state level.
This section will be updated when data are available. Please refer to 2022 Economic Census Release Schedule for release dates.
The economic census produces detailed content on miscellaneous topics. Most Miscellaneous Statistics tables are sector-specific and can be found on the individual sector webpages, but the following tables provide data for multiple NAICS sectors in the same table (“Sector 00”), as specified below.
This section will be updated when data are available. Please refer to 2022 Economic Census Release Schedule for release dates.
