Economic Development Administration’s (EDA) Good Jobs Challenge

Program Objective

Make investments in high-quality, locally led workforce systems to transform America’s communities.

Collaboration Highlights

In partnership with the Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Census Bureau is collecting data from EDA’s Good Jobs Challenge program grantees. This effort relies on the Census Bureau’s expertise in collecting, housing, and protecting personally identifiable information. Post-collection, we then utilize our data linkage infrastructure to provide unique secure identifiers to each program participant data record, enabling the linkage of EDA program data to a variety of Census Bureau demographic, employment, and geographic data assets. Repeated metrics are generated on grantees, training facilities, and program participants. Through this collaboration, the Census Bureau is supporting EDA’s analytical team as they conduct frequent mid-program evaluation and program modifications. Together we are establishing the infrastructure to support the study of long-term program impacts.
