In the early stages of implementing the Evidence Act, an evidence-building staff was created to leverage the Census Bureau’s data linkage infrastructure in assisting federal agencies in evidence-building. The evidence-building staff piloted a series of projects researching the longitudinal effects of federal and state programs
Partnering with other agencies and researchers primarily in academia has allowed the Census Bureau to demonstrate its evidence-building capabilities. The partnership allowed a number of federal agencies and academics to analyze short and long run impacts of programs in order to improve program design and implementation. Highlights of these partnerships will be featured in future editions of the Featured Collaborations section.
