Occoquan Mill House Museum

The Occoquan Mill House Museum in Occoquan, VA, documents the history of this small northern Virginia town. Founded in 1765, Occoquan was home to the first automated gristmill in the United States.

The museum uses census data to tell the stories of the families who built the town. Data also helps the exhibits illustrate Occoquan's evolution from mill town to artist community.
