Heritage Sandy Springs

The Heritage Sandy Springs Museum, located in the repurposed Williams-Payne House at Heritage Green, is the only museum dedicated to sharing the exciting and vibrant story of Sandy Springs, GA. An anchor exhibit—Sandy Springs: Land and People—tells the changing story of the community as the home of American Indians, rural farmers, and modern suburbanites. Interpretive panels depict key transitions in Sandy Springs' history, including the Land Rush, Civil War and Reconstruction, the impact of World War II, the area's growth in the late 20th century, and the struggle to become a city.

Additional galleries allow in-depth exhibits about historical, seasonal, and current events. Through August 2016, one of these galleries features Sandy Springs: Then & Now. The exhibit uses photographs, an interactive population graph, and oral histories to show how Sandy Springs changed over the decades.
