Instructions for Visitors and Guests

General Information:

  • If you plan to attend the NAC Fall 2019 Meeting, please register by Friday, November 1, 2019. You may access the online registration from the following link: nacnov2019.eventbrite.com
  • This meeting is physically accessible to people with disabilities. Requests for sign language interpretation or other auxiliary aids should also be directed to census.scientific.advisory.committee@census.gov preferably two weeks prior to the meeting.
  • Due to security protocols and for access to the meeting, please call 301-763-9906 upon arrival at the Census Bureau on the day of the meeting.
  • A photo ID must be presented in order to receive your visitor's badge.
  • Visitors are not allowed beyond the first floor.
  • If you are bringing a laptop, it must be registered at the time you arrive in the lobby. Cameras and weapons are not permitted in the U.S. Census Bureau.
  • Upon arrival, members of the media should contact the Public Information Office at 301-763-3030 or PIO@census.gov.

Ground Transportation

  • If traveling by privately-owned vehicle, you must enter the Suitland Federal Center at Gate 5, located at Silver Hill and Swann Road.  Officers at Gate 5 will direct you to the Visitor’s Center for vehicle inspection and you will need to provide your vehicle identification information.
  • Depending on the number of visitors, processing could be as long as 20 minutes.  After the vehicle inspection, you will be directed to the parking area adjacent to the Main/Metro Entrance (Gate 7).
