Data Linkage Infrastructure Technical Documentation

The Census Bureau has established a series of protocols to manage the use of linked data and administrative records. These consist of a well-established set of practices for the acquisition of external datasets, processing and de-identification of data, the approval and tracking of uses, and the production of statistical output. These practices are reinforced in a required Data Stewardship training program that educates all employees and sworn agents on an annual basis.
