Annual Business Survey (ABS) APIs
The Census Bureau’s Application Programming Interface (API) allows users to create custom queries. Users can embed these statistics into web or mobile apps.

The ASE provides more timely updates on the status, nature, and scope of women-, minority-, and veteran-owned businesses.


Business Dynamics Statistics (BDS) Time Series (1978 – 2021)
The Business Dynamics Statistics (BDS) dataset is now available as a Census Bureau API.


CBP and ZIP Code Business Patterns (ZBP) API
Provides subnational economic data by industry, including the number of establishments, employment, first quarter payroll, and annual payroll.


Commodity Flow Survey (CFS)
CFS is a joint project of Census and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics producing data on the movement of goods in the United States.


County Business Patterns 1986-2021 & Nonemployer Statistics 1997-2020
Annual statistics on U.S. businesses with and without paid employees or payroll at detailed levels of geography and industry. Both surveys use NAICS codes.


Economic Census (2002 – 2022)
Economic and business data, down to the county level, includes number of establishments, sales and receipts, annual payroll, number of employees and more.


Economic Indicators (Time Series: various years - present)
Fourteen national, monthly and quarterly surveys cover construction, housing, international trade, retail and wholesale trade, services, manufacturing and more.


International Trade (annual 2005 - present, monthly 2013-present)
The International Trade Datasets provide detailed monthly and annual statistics on trade between the United States and its international trade partners.


Nonemployer Statistics by Demographics (NES-D) APIs

Quarterly Workforce Indicators (QWI) (Time Series: 1990 - present)
The QWI are a set of 32 economic indicators including employment, job creation/destruction, wages, hires, and other measures of employment flows.
