In March 2012, the 2011 CPS Annual, Social, and Economic Supplement person and family data were re-released due to errors found after the initial release. Eighteen variables were corrected: 15 tax variables (listed below), plus P_MVCARE on the person file, and FFNGCARE and FFNGCAID on the family file. Person records had mismatched tax variables and there was an error in the calculation of the market value of Medicare (P_MVCARE). The family fungible values for Medicare and Medicaid (FFNGCARE and FFNGCAID) use P_MVCARE. Tax variables: ACTC_CRD, AGI, CTC_CRD, EIT_CRED, FEDTAX_AC, FEDTAX_BC, FED_RET, FICA, MARG_TAX, MWP_VAL, STATETAX_A, STATETAX_B, TAX_INC, DEP_STAT, & FILESTAT.

The 2014 tax model (2014 ASEC) required a modification to accommodate an additional tax bracket. The 2014 ASEC files now represent the corrected tax data.
Data for noncash benefits values and after-tax values (HFDVAL, HOUSRET, PROP_TAX, AGI, CTC_CRD, ACTC_CRD, DEP_STAT, EIT_CRED, EMCONTRB, FED_RET, FEDTAX_AC, FEDTAX_BC, FICA, FILESTAT, MARG_TAX, PRSWKXPNS, STATETAX_AC, STATETAX_BC, TAX_INC) were originally issued in October 2016. The full data file was re-issued on Nov. 7, 2016, without the data for noncash benefits values and after-tax values; errors were found in several "after-tax" variables. The CPS ASEC 2016 data are re-issued on Jan. 24, 2017, with corrections to certain "after-tax" variables. See User Note #5 in the ASEC 2016 Technical Documentation for details of the corrections.
In October 2016, ASEC data files originally released in 2012, 2013, and 2014 were re-posted. Effective with the 2012 ASEC data files, the following four variables have blanks (00000) for all records: FFNGCARE, FFNGCAID, P_MVCARE, P_MVCAID.
On Nov. 3, 2016, a revised file was provided to correct incorrect data for two imputation flags: I_PMEDVAL & I_POTCVAL, on the person record.
On February 21, 2017, a revised file was released to make corrections to several tax variables on the person record.
The Tax Model and SPM variables were updated on 10/4/2019. A list of these variables are found in chapter 6C Pages (31-32) and (63-65) of the Technical Documentation.
On 11/20/2019, this file was replaced, correcting the variable FKINDEX.
On 9/22/2020 a revised file was provided to add the variable PRPERTYP. New record layouts and data dictionary were also released to reflect this update.
On 4/1/2021, a revised file was provided to make corrections to four variables (LJCW, CLWK, WECLW, & NOEMP) on the person record.
