Census Bureau to Host Webinar on New American Community Survey Five-Year Statistics

Press Release Number CB15-205

What:
The U.S. Census Bureau will hold a webinar on Nov. 30 in advance of the Dec. 3 release of 2014 American Community Survey five-year statistics, which are based on data collected from 2010 to 2014.

The webinar will show participants how to access the data, review block group-level data and provide a demonstration of Census Business Builder, a Web application that allows users to access both American Community Survey and economic statistics in map form.

The American Community Survey provides a wide range of important statistics about people and housing for every community in the nation. The survey is the only source of local estimates for most of the 40 topics it covers for even the smallest communities. It produces statistics for ancestry, language, education, commuting, employment, mortgage status and rent, as well as income, poverty and health insurance. Statistics will be available for all geographies down to the block group level regardless of population size.

Embargo subscribers will have access to these statistics beginning Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. EST. (Note: Log in to the embargo site in advance to make sure your username and password are current.)
