This slideshow introduces data users to statistics about veterans collected from U.S. Census Bureau surveys. It provides a basic understanding of the history of the decennial census program and how and why we have transitioned from the 10-year decennial census “long-form” to the annual American Community Survey. Users will learn about the questions we ask related to veterans as well as why we ask those questions. They will also learn how those questions have changed over time. Finally, we will present information on how to access data from our many data tools and where to find additional resources on veteran statistics and research.
