With six regional offices and thousands of employees working in local communities across the country, the Field Directorate is our largest team at the U.S. Census Bureau.
Regional offices are responsible for coordinating data collection, data dissemination, and geographic operations for a range of different surveys each year, as well as the decennial census. Full-time and part-time positions in our regional offices include survey statisticians, survey technicians, information technology, and administrative and clerical staff.
We also employ part-time employees to connect with diverse members of their local communities and collect data that represents the voice of the nation. Available across the nation, including Puerto Rico, our field representative and supervisor positions serve an important role in completing the mission of the agency. Census Bureau field representatives and field supervisors make up the majority of these positions, serving an important role in completing the mission of the agency. They connect with diverse members of their local communities and collect data that represents the voice of the nation. Census Bureau data are the foundation of all official statistics used to make decisions about the programs, services, and infrastructure that we rely upon.
The U.S. Census Bureau is committed to recruiting a diverse and inclusive workforce that is representative of the American people and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
